Best News of the Day

Barack Obama's acceptance speech last night at the Democratic National Convention was seen by more than 38 million people.
Nielsen Media Research says more people watched Obama speak than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final American Idol episode or the Academy Awards this year!!

I love this news because it shows how much attention this election is attracting. I really do think people want to learn about both candidates and that they really do care who is elected.

I also just loved last night. This is history, no matter what happens, this is a time in our nation that will be remembered. I haven't changed my radio station all week off of AM. I can't get enough of any talk show talking about the election and both of the candidates.
Any opinion there is I want to hear it. I want to know why people are supporting who they are. and why they think their choice is the right choice.

As long as people vote, I can't complain.

The Planner is now Full

If you haven't yet figured one thing out about me is that every week my life seems to change or I have something new that I am doing.

This week is no exception....

Basically summer is over and the fall season has started. It seems like my planner is almost filled everyday with someplace to be and someone to meet with.

This may overwhelm many people, but I love it.

But as much as I love it, I am at this moment feeling I am close to pushing the overload button.

My planner is now filled with...
young life events/Club
high school sports games (back to contact work)
working lots of hours at deweys
margie's girls bible study that starts up in two weeks on thursday nights
a trip planned in October with Emilee for 5 days (we're really doing it!!)
a Typography (the study of type) class that I am taking on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons
and I have a final interview for a JOB next friday

Right now I just need to let fall life sink in and focus on getting everything going and in routine over the next couple of weeks.

After a rough summer, I finally am really excited for the amazing potential of what fall may have in store for me. This rough spot may just be over.

Other things...
The Bindbeutel house has no front porch right now. A new one is being built over the next couple of weeks and the old one had to be taken down. You can all now say how crappy the last one was, its ok, my parents knew it too.

Cards games Cards games!!
Some how free tickets are being thrown at me for three games this week and I feel I'm the only one in st louis who thinks they will be the wild card team in october.

MIZ...ZOU
football kicks off saturday!! If i only get to go to one football game all season, I'm really glad it's this Saturday's game downtown. I'm ready to break out the black and gold for another season.

That is all....for now

I wish i was cool like Emilee and posted pictures along with this post, but it's past 12 and time for bed.

Beans Part 2

Went to Chicago over the weekend.

A tradition has now started with Christie and I driving from STL to visit Dave and Pat (all high school friends) when the Cardinals come to town to play the Cubs.

The boys now live in Wicker Park so we went to a lot of bars/restaurants in that area.
We spent all day on Michigan Ave Friday...all day Saturday in Wrigley Ville...and spent Sunday at the North Shore Beach.

The highlight for me was riding bikes from Wicker Park with Dave to the beach. City Biking, a little freaky, but a great way to enjoy the city in a whole different way.

Over all a great weekend in the Windy City and already planning on Beans Part 3 for next year.

it's the martin's fault...

the martins invited kevin and i over to play Ticket to Ride (or what i like to call, The Train Game) one night a couple of weeks ago and now it's becoming a trend/addiction

If i could send it to you all to play, i would

i have never been much of a board game kind of girl, but this game has got me hooked.

I just got home from playing three rounds of the game and already wish I could had been more awake to play a 4th.

look for it
play it
love it
