check this out

I met this guy one night at the journey and started to talk to him just because he had TOMS on

We started to get into a longer conversation and he brought up what he was up to in his life and took out his business card with a site on it

I've been meaning to share this site with people for a while, because i think the concept of this idea is so interesting and a great debate to have with anyone

spend some time and look it up...

It's Fall weekend time for STL County Young Life!

At 9pm tomorrow night we will fill a bus full with high school kids and take them to Minneapolis for the weekend...well 36 hours of the weekend

We will spend Saturday all day at the Mall Of America ( i will be a first time visitor)
and will attend a Timberwolves basketball game at night (my first NBA game)

It's a nonstop weekend, so that means we will not be sleeping in a hotel. The only sleep anyone will be getting is what they can get on the bus ride there and back. You can think of us when you are warm in your beds on friday AND saturday night.

Pray for safety
Pray for kids
Pray for leaders
Pray for a great time in Minnesota

Bring on the Red Bulls and many Starbucks Coffee drinks

back in STL by noon on Sunday =)

Twilight

These books OWN me

done with books 1 & 2
moving on to 3 as soon as i can make it to my nearest bookstore

i would not say these books are amazing/well written/books of the year

but they are REALLY addicting

i'm a little embarrassed to admit this addiction since they are written for young adults in a 16pt Helvetica font

edward cullen could be this generations mr. darcy

heart hurts

already i am missing ashley ward and i only dropped her off at the airport 2hrs ago

i forget sometimes what great friends can bring out of you

it was so natural to have her here in st louis last night and to be with her these past few days, even after almost a year of not seeing/talking to her

i miss having her and other friends who i care for like this here in st louis.

I am blessed with great friends here, but a few of these girls that i am thinking of right now i wish i could spend daily life with so much it hurts sometimes

But i'm here
and they are where they are supposed to be

some day i hope we all find our place in the same city together again

really really hope =)

Bye Bye October

I feel like i need to update, just to update

* Went to mizzou for homecoming this past weekend and going back to mizzou tomorrow for ASHBASH!! Ashley Ward has returned back to the states and to Missouri for the week. It also happens that Mr. Obama will also be in columbia tomorrow night speaking on campus...funny how that worked out.

* i hate Halloween costume pressure

* My biggest disappointment of the week has been going to Shlafley to finally drink their fall seasonal beers on tap and finding out that both of them are sold out till next year. Big Bummer.

* The new Snow Patrol CD will not be leaving my car for a while

* Finally a "oscar'ish" movie (Rachel Getting Married) is out in theatres and I can't find time to go. love that Anne Hathaway.

* I'm hosting Young Life Morning Prayer time at my house on mondays now and it has become my favorite part of my week

* WAAAAYYY Ready for the Election to be over

* Welcome Back 30 Rock, even if you have been able to see the new episode on nbc.com all week...

* I'm pretty obsessed with the Alpine Shop right now. I finally picked out a new winter coat after two winters of searching and pretty much wish i was friends with everyone that worked there. These people are WAY too helpful.

* On to Twilight Book #2....Addicted like every other person that reads these books.

* Fall Day Light Savings = the most depressing day of the year

*Happy Halloween!

i turned 25 today

it's doesn't seem old...or that young

i really wonder where i thought i was going to be in my life on this day. I don't really think i ever gave it thought 10 years ago or even 5.

It's just not my style.

but i do know i like where i am at.

I love the weekend i just got to have enjoying the start of a new year with friends. i love the new job i am doing and i love that I'm about to take off for a trip with a favorite friend of mine on Thursday.

so there is no high end job this year...
there is no husband...
a fancy car...
or whatever else some people may measure there life by each year

but there are a lot of fun things going on that i truly enjoy and great people that fill every day with amazing emails, phone calls and hang out times.
I think that's a pretty great life for any 25 year old.

i think I'm going to like this 25th year...a lot =)

"An idol is anything in my life that occupies the place that should be occupied by God alone. An idol is anything that holds such a controlling position in my life that it moves and rouses and attracts me so easily that I give my time, my attention, my energy and my money to it effortlessly."

Fact #567 about me...

I love gossip girl

I'm not proud
but its just the truth

I feel in my circle of friends the only shows that are acceptable are Heroes and Lost. As much as I enjoy these shows also, they just don't fill the guilty pleasure of high school drama, endless stories of love triangles and cat fights.

It's just good tv fun that I can't avoid

Best News of the Day

Barack Obama's acceptance speech last night at the Democratic National Convention was seen by more than 38 million people.
Nielsen Media Research says more people watched Obama speak than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final American Idol episode or the Academy Awards this year!!

I love this news because it shows how much attention this election is attracting. I really do think people want to learn about both candidates and that they really do care who is elected.

I also just loved last night. This is history, no matter what happens, this is a time in our nation that will be remembered. I haven't changed my radio station all week off of AM. I can't get enough of any talk show talking about the election and both of the candidates.
Any opinion there is I want to hear it. I want to know why people are supporting who they are. and why they think their choice is the right choice.

As long as people vote, I can't complain.

The Planner is now Full

If you haven't yet figured one thing out about me is that every week my life seems to change or I have something new that I am doing.

This week is no exception....

Basically summer is over and the fall season has started. It seems like my planner is almost filled everyday with someplace to be and someone to meet with.

This may overwhelm many people, but I love it.

But as much as I love it, I am at this moment feeling I am close to pushing the overload button.

My planner is now filled with...
young life events/Club
high school sports games (back to contact work)
working lots of hours at deweys
margie's girls bible study that starts up in two weeks on thursday nights
a trip planned in October with Emilee for 5 days (we're really doing it!!)
a Typography (the study of type) class that I am taking on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons
and I have a final interview for a JOB next friday

Right now I just need to let fall life sink in and focus on getting everything going and in routine over the next couple of weeks.

After a rough summer, I finally am really excited for the amazing potential of what fall may have in store for me. This rough spot may just be over.

Other things...
The Bindbeutel house has no front porch right now. A new one is being built over the next couple of weeks and the old one had to be taken down. You can all now say how crappy the last one was, its ok, my parents knew it too.

Cards games Cards games!!
Some how free tickets are being thrown at me for three games this week and I feel I'm the only one in st louis who thinks they will be the wild card team in october.

MIZ...ZOU
football kicks off saturday!! If i only get to go to one football game all season, I'm really glad it's this Saturday's game downtown. I'm ready to break out the black and gold for another season.

That is all....for now

I wish i was cool like Emilee and posted pictures along with this post, but it's past 12 and time for bed.

Beans Part 2

Went to Chicago over the weekend.

A tradition has now started with Christie and I driving from STL to visit Dave and Pat (all high school friends) when the Cardinals come to town to play the Cubs.

The boys now live in Wicker Park so we went to a lot of bars/restaurants in that area.
We spent all day on Michigan Ave Friday...all day Saturday in Wrigley Ville...and spent Sunday at the North Shore Beach.

The highlight for me was riding bikes from Wicker Park with Dave to the beach. City Biking, a little freaky, but a great way to enjoy the city in a whole different way.

Over all a great weekend in the Windy City and already planning on Beans Part 3 for next year.

it's the martin's fault...

the martins invited kevin and i over to play Ticket to Ride (or what i like to call, The Train Game) one night a couple of weeks ago and now it's becoming a trend/addiction

If i could send it to you all to play, i would

i have never been much of a board game kind of girl, but this game has got me hooked.

I just got home from playing three rounds of the game and already wish I could had been more awake to play a 4th.

look for it
play it
love it

Batman mania...

EW : There's an old joke about how Superman is the guy girls want to marry but Batman's the one they want to date.

Nolan: Michael Caine had a great line: "Superman is the way American sees itself, but Batman is the way the world sees America." Batman is kind of this benevolent billionaire , with the power of the wealthy. [He's not] a godlike figure like Superman. He's one of us.

If i knew they were chainging plates, I would have voted..

so what if it's a "guy" magazine?

i have a new favorite magazine...

Details

thanks to free magazines from air miles, my house now receives it and i look forward to it every month

i still can not decide if the main audience is for gay or straight men, but i do know that the writing if clever and every article is really interesting

this month one feature keeps me laughing...
http://men.style.com/details/quizzes/thatguy/thatguy/

it's hard to not read this list and not have a guy come to mind for almost all of these questions. I get a good little chuckle of the many guys i know that come to mind.

I just wish now the writers would write a "that girl" list to see where i would fall...
